Kerja Praktek PT Vale Indonesia (Part 2)

Hi again, folks. Let's talk about my internship again. So, in this post i want to share about my intern-mate. But again, i'm so sorry for every grammar errors here. I am a english newbie writer :D

Actually, there're 19 intern student who start the internship at the same time with me. We met in the GIP (General Induction Program), and we tried to know each other. Every intern student came from the different university, such as Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Sepuluh November Surabaya (ITS), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Hasanudin, and UIN Makassar.

In this post, i will not tell you one by one about every intern student. I will tell you about 6 of them, of course because i have spent almost all of my time in Sorowako with them. So here they are
My lovable intern-mate
As i told you before, i will tell you about 6 of my intern-mate. But in that photo, there are 5 pretty girl (of course without me). So i will share another photo about one and only boy in our group later :D So, i will start from the left side to the right side (of course exclude me) :D

1. Rezqi Putri
Rezqi Putri (we usually called her eci) was born in Sorowako, but she moved to Malang since she entered her Junior High School. She's a student of Institute Teknologi Sepuluh November, majoring Industrial Engineering. We were placed in the same division, Supply Chain Management, but in the different section. She got shipping and traffic section. She's no longer single anyway, but she was actually admiring a single employee in Procurement section :D She's down-to-earth kinda person. Her father got a really good position in Vale, she never showed it up though. Just stay the same, ciiii. (Anyway thanks to eci's father for helping us when there was a little accident, thanks for letting us experienced raft, kano, and kinda beautiful private lake, and thanks for driving and picking us from "buka bersama"). Actually, she really looks like her father, like seriously. She woke up late every weekend, so we called her "Tuan Putri" :D Her house is our basecamp in Sorowako. Thank you eci for everything.

2. Sulfitryani Sjuman
Once i heard her name, i thought that she's a member of Titi Sjuman's family :D We usually called her pipi, or pipipo. Pipi is a student of Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar, majoring Industrial Engineering. Once i heard that she is Industrial Engineering student, i thought that she would be placed in SCM too, but i was wrong. She's placed in MEM (Maintenance), because she wanted to do her research for final assignment in maintenance. She's the last person who finish her internship because she has to take real data every day. Until i write this post, she has not finished her internship yet. Keep spirit pi :D FYI, she's qualified single and need a boyfriend as soon as possible who could accompany her in the graduation ceremony. She is a Sorowako native, usually spoke in Sorowako accent and Adila felt so hard to understand her when she talked. But, she's a really kind girl, can make "Es Pisang Ijo" well, kinda mantu-able, wife-able girl :D Anyway, thank you pipipo for everything.

3. Adila Afifah Rizki
I've known this girl since i entered my college life. Yes, of course, she's a student of Universitas Indonesia, majoring Industrial Engineering. We were placed in the same division, Supply Chain Management, but in the different section. She got Procurement Process section. She's a kind yet "galak". She will be straightforward about everything. So guys, don't try to make Adila angry, just don't you dare break her mood :D She's the one who offered me to apply internship at Vale and arranged everything. Thanks to Adila and family for your help, so i can do my internship at Vale. I didn't even know anything about Vale before. But i was blessed that i had the opportunity to do internship in this awesome company. Anyway, she's a qualified single too guys. She's kind and can manage the plan for vacation or everything else. So if you want to be her boyfriend, please contact me or contact Adila directly.

4. Dwita Ratu  K.
Dwita (or wita) is a student of Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar, majoring mechanical engineering. That's cool, right. Adila said that the first time she saw this girl, Adila tought that she looked like Lorde, with her curly hair and the way she dressed. She's the real engineer. She's the one who help Ciwank when there's an accident in front of Eci's house and dealt with car machine and whatsoever. Really really cool. When pipi is the real Sorowako native, Dwita is the real Makassar native. Eci said that Dwita is like singing when she's speaking. She's single anyway, but i think that she's taken :D She like to take pictures and i think her photographs are great, you can see it in her instagram. Thanks for everything, Dwitaaaa

5. Edwina Seviera
Edwina (or wina) is a student of  Institute Teknologi Sepuluh November, majoring Industrial Engineering. We were placed in the same division, Supply Chain Management, but in the different section. She got shipping and traffic section too, like Eci. She's the shortest intern student *peace wina* She has an unique name. Adila and i were wrong, thought that she's christian because of her name, just don't know why hahaha. She's no longer single (I don't know whether it's accidentally or not, both of intern student from ITS are no longer single huft). She's been in her relationship for almost 2 years, wow. She's the one who gave me suggestion about what should i put in the threat part of my SWOT analysis, thanks Winaaaa.

So this is the last person that i want to introduce, the one and only boy of our group :D
The last day of internship
6. Azwar Karim
Till the end of internship, i still don't know the reason behind his name. His real name is Azwar Karim, but everyone called him Ciwank, like seriously, how come?. He's a student of Universitas Hasanuddin, majoring mechanical engineering. He's a real engineer too. Without him, we are nothing eeeaaa. He always listen to our story (girl's story) and then laugh because of our story. He always took photos of us. He's no longer single too, but he's in the forbidden relationship (a.k.a "benteng"). Pray for the best for your relationship, ciwank. Anyway, thanks for everything ciwank.

I also want to share the moment we spent together. Here they are.
The first photo we took together
The second day of internship, with the stressed-out face because of the case we got from our mentor
Barbeque ala ala :D

Rafting for the very first time
The last saturday night in Eci's house
Talking in canteen for the last time
For everyone i've mentioned in this post, i want to say a big big big big thanks for everything. You know i love you guys. I am nothing without you, and the internship will be boring without you guys. See you on top!!!
So, this is the end of my second post about my internship. Don't hesitate to give a comment or ask if there's something you need to know. See you on the next post :)

Kerja Praktek PT Vale Indonesia (Part 1)

Hi my blog reader, quite a long time i have not post anything here. It's been a week since my last day of internship in PT Vale Indonesia. So i want to share everything about that internship, starting from the administration, internship itself, my intern-mate, and of course my vacation and experiences in Vale and Sorowako. But maybe i will divide them into some post. It will be a very long post if i write everything in only 1 post.  In this post, i want to share about the administration and the internship in general. I want to write it in english, because actually i want to improve my english writing skill. So, i'm so sorry if there are any grammar errors.

But first, i want to tell you the reason i started blogging. I started blogging purely as an assignment for my Information System Class, but starting from now i want to share my experiences in this blog, that i hope my writing will be useful for every reader in need.

Ok then, let's start talking about internship. If you want to apply for internship (i mean Kerja Praktek) in PT Vale Indonesia, you have to send your internship proposal, letter from your department, transcript, and also your curriculum vitae, both softcopy and hardcopy. For the hardcopy, you should send it directly to the office at Sorowako, South Sulawesi. After you got accepted into the internship, you have to arrange your insurance and send it soon to Vale. I got my insurance from Takaful Keluarga and the fee was Rp 250.000 for that insurance. After completed the administration, you will get acceptance letter from PT Vale Indonesia. I applied for a month internship, but in my acceptance letter, the internship period was in 2 months. Just don't worry, you can negotiate it later while you're doing your internship.

After you arrive in Sorowako, you have to go to External Relation first. You will fill out the form about your personal identity. Don't forget to bring your photo and acceptance letter. You will also get the schedule for GIP (General Induction Program). There're 4 programs, such as GIP, safety talk, SSIP, and MSSIP. I was placed in Supply Chain Management division (under Corporate Service now), so i only got GIP and safety talk.
The schedule for GIP and Safety Talk
After join the GIP and safety talk, you need to come back again to External Relation to get your safety shoes and helmet. You will also get your ID card the day you start your internship.
My helmet and ID Card
As the intern student, you must follow every regulation in that company. You have to wear your safety shoes and ID card everyday. Office hour: Mon-Thu 08.00 AM - 04.30 PM, Fri 08.00 AM - 05.15 PM, Sat and Sun closed. For the outfit itself, you can wear everything, as long as it's neat and polite. Just don't use skirt here. Internship in Vale is not as what we usually called "KP Cantik". You can use the free bus service that will take you to and from the plant site. You can get the bus at the bus stop in the particular time. Just don't be late, or you have to use "Ojek" to take you to and from the plant site. Tips: If you use "Ojek", don't forget to save the number of the driver. It will be so much useful someday.

As i said before, i was placed in Supply Chain Management division. There're 4 intern student placed in SCM, so we're divided into particular section in SCM. So here we are, the intern student at SCM
My intern-mate at SCM
I got Procurement Support. I thanked God for placing me into that section. I got my best mentor ever and met the experienced yet humorous employee. Everyone in the office kept helping me doing my case and finishing my report. In the first week, my intern mate and i learned about Vale and SCM in general and we're assigned to make the whole business process of SCM in Vale and presented it as well. I didn't meet my mentor and even get my case in the first week because my mentor was in his business trip. Beside did our case and finished our report, we also visited the warehouse and the warehouse support. We also joined safety talk every week.
Try to become the SCM expert :D
As i also said before, eventhough in my acceptance letter, the internship would be 2 months, i finished it in a month. It's only a matter of time and negotiation. Tips: if you want to finish it quickly, you have to convince your mentor first about the reason behind it and finish your case as quick as you can. Don't hesitate to ask your mentor or everyone when you need them to help you.
So, here they are my best mentor and employee from Procurement Support and also Contract Administration.
Took photos with my mentor and employee from Procurement Support and Contract Administration in the very last day of internship
Yes, we called this day orange day :D
It's my first time of internship, and i got my first cubical yeahh
The office
My mess cubical :D
In the fourth week, i present my case to my mentor. And thank God, i got a perfect score from my mentor, but there're minor revision for my report. He said that he was satisfied with my work, my presentation, and also the ppt itself. After everything about my report was completed, i was assigned to make them some flow chart and presentation for their  monthly report.

After everything was completed, the last thing you need to do is going to External Relation office to return your helmet and safety shoes (don't forget to clean up your safety shoes first before you return it) and give your report. You will get completion letter from Vale.

I think it's enough for my first post about the internship. I hope it's useful for everyone in need. Don't hesitate to give a comment if there's something you need to know. See you in my next post about the internship.
